IFMA 2008 to Focus on City,
Trekking, All-terrain Bikes, etc.
IFMA Cologne 2008 will take place from Sept. 18 to 21. The show organizer, Koelnmesse, said 650 exhibiting companies from 35 countries are expected to participate in the exhibition.
They will be showcasing their latest products and trends covering all aspects of bikes, parts, accessories and components. This year・s focus will be on all-terrain, city, trekking and special bikes, which make up the biggest part of the international bicycle market.
One focus of IFMA that has been expanded further is e-bikes and pedelecs. In view of the current boom in this segment, Light Electric Vehicle (LEV) will be more strongly represented at this year・s IFMA and are expected to draw many visitors to the test and event Hall 6.
The two IFMA public open days are very popular and will remain in place, according to the trade show organizer. :They enable direct contact with end users, which is an enormously important aspect for many exhibitors,; said Oliver P. Kuhrt, director of Koelnmesse.
On Sept. 20 and 21, thousands of cycling enthusiasts will once again converge on the halls and the open-air exhibition ground. They will take a look at any try out the latest trends and products. :With extensive testing possibilities both inside and out, we are once again providing plenty of opportunity to do so,; said Kuhrt.
In addition, an exciting supporting program from bike action to cycling holiday dreams ensures the best possible cycling entertainment. The cycling congress and children・s congress are also the ideal platforms for current cycling and transport-related political themes this year.
